Maritime Business Management Department

Maritime Business Management department; It aims to train qualified manpower specialized in maritime and logistics fields that enable the organization to operate effectively and efficiently by bringing together capital, raw material and human resources that can carry out the necessary planning and financial transactions in the field of business and management in the maritime transport sector.

Turkey is surrounded by the sea, in order to close the human resources gap in the field of maritime, the department provides education at academic level, both theoretical and practical, and besides business and maritime courses, courses in the fields of Logistics, Transportation, Law and Computer Science are given. Aiming to raise qualified leaders for the maritime industry, the department is supported with Russian, Chinese, French and German lessons as well as vocational and technical English lessons every semester so that its graduates can integrate more deeply into international trade.

It is very important for the candidates who will choose the department to be people who love the sea very much, who are responsible and self-confident, who are able to manage crisis situations well, prone to learn foreign languages and take steps towards continuous self-improvement in terms of progressing faster in their careers.

The graduates of the department can work in administrative positions in public institutions affiliated to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, as well as working in the private sector. They can find job opportunities as managers in businesses such as shipping companies, shipping agencies, brokerage firms such as forwarders and brokers, marine insurance companies, foreign trade and logistics enterprises, marine equipment suppliers, shipyards, ports and marinas. In today’s turbulent business world, where global competition is showing more and more, the advantages of specializing in a more specific area instead of general business administration will create new business areas for our graduates.
